Cranberry Heart is a small Art Greeting Card Company with the ethos of beautiful Art and Design at its core.
We are based in Yorkshire between the lively ‘Steel City’ of Sheffield and the moors, dales and valleys of the Peak District.
It is run by ourselves – Chris and Steph Gilbert, our backgrounds being in IT and Illustration respectively.
We have chosen a selection of designs from leading publishers you will be familiar with, though we also source from smaller independents you may not yet have discovered!
The cards are reproduced from original artwork by some of the best Artists, Printmakers, Illustrators and Photographers of the 20th Century - through to those of the present day. A small number of our card designs are pre 20th Century.
We aim to provide a diverse range of styles to choose from - some quirky and fun whilst others are simply, seriously, beautiful.
The inspiration for our company name came from a pair of stained glass light catchers made by Steph, which became our Logo and Twitter bird. They both contain Antique, Cranberry Pink, Stained Glass. (This glass is hand blown - therefore each sheet varies in its’ colour intensity, it also has random surface striations and air bubbles trapped within it. The deep jewel colour of cranberry pink is created by adding gold to the molten glass. True pinks can only be made when gold is used!)
